Vacation mode is in full swing. We have been in it half heartedly this trip as there have been many go and do and see days, which we are greatful for. Now we are in rest and relaxation mode. For our final 2 weeks it's what our days hold.
Including sleeping in till whenever. It's great, starting the day whenever we get up and are awake, not at the Suns pace. Although today was yet a beautifully sunny day. We walked from the hostel in the direction of Sorrento. This time we stopped at a restaurant we passed yesterday on the cliff that over looks the ocean and Sorrento.
We enjoyed an American lunch here, with the ocean breeze and sun beating down on us. We spent a number of hours relaxing, watching people and soaking in every minute of our time here. When we finished our lunch, and the wine that went with it we ordered and ice coffee. Much to our surprise and ultimately delight, this consisted of coffee, ice cream, and whipped cream. Was delicious! Certainly enjoyed that in the sun. Our view was good as well.
There is something magical the way the sun sparkles off the water. It is so beautiful and can't quite be captured the way the mind remembers it.
From our long relaxing lunch and relaxation, we walked to Sorrento. We walked around a little bit, got a cold soda and headed back as it was already going on 530, the sun sucked some life outta us and we were ready for some AC. After a refreshing shower the day slipped pat. Before we knew it we were up watching the sunset on the terrace and heading for dinner.
Hoping for many Greek sunsets in the days to come, I love them. I have so cherished the solid time we have had together and the memories we have made, the conversations we have had, and how much closer we have gotten. I didn't think that was possible. Nor did I think I could fall deeper in love, but it's a real thing, and I am so thankful for it. Plus, we get to spend the rest of our lives together which is sweet.
Anyways enough gushy, crazy how time flies. Can't believe our trip is coming to an end, already. We are excited to be home and see everyone. But before that we have some Greek islands to hit up.
Also looks like Luke got his wish and he will not be guest starring as a writer on the blog. Lucky him I guess. Pretty sure he planned that somehow. Sneaky.
For everyone's viewing pleasure, here's a photo from a restroom from a few days ago. It was a shared bathroom so all got to see, and learn? Maybe for some.
Do you know what's worse then texting and Vespa - ing, pokemoning and Vespa driving! We legit saw this and walked past him and laughed, I hope he was embarrassed, he was looking down for an awful long time, then pulled off to the side. Twice. Oh boy. We have seen a number of Pokemon players on our trip. Apparently it came out after we got it back home and took off immediately. There were thugs on the news talking about Auschwitz, and how they were asking to be taken out of the game because they already had people walking around trying to find them. Have seen people on the train playing, restaurants, walking the streets, but the Vespa was for the win.
Tomorrow we head back to Naples. The trains don't run early enough to get us there for our flight Thursday morning so we had to do some switching around. Flights to Crete are only every 2 or 3 days, and only at 825 in the morning. So we sadly have to leave Sorrento a day early. There is something so luring about this tiny place, but I love it.
We spent a little more for places on the islands, cause we wanna do it right, plus we had everything under the sun the last while so we wanted to finish off feeling good before heading back to Canada.
And so the adventure continues...
Glad to hear Pokemon Go is not only plaguing North America.... every where you go here you find people walking like zombies!
