The land of lemons...more importantly limoncello. Much of it sold is actually homemade, lemons grown by families and the limoncello family recipe sold in town. And you can see them all over. Best part? Tasting it! We walked the streets and popped in many little places and tried their version. So fun!
We had a great day, walked to Sorrento from our hostel and spent all day there. We saw it all. Walked up away from the tourist streets, and meandered everywhere we could. Started as a beautiful day sun shining and then got cloudy, was certainly raining somewhere. Thankfully no rain for us.
Apart of the limoncello tasting was the one place had a limoncello slushi. So we got out free tester thrown in that and it was fabulous. Truth be told we went back for seconds after dinner as it was so delicious. We also got to try the cream limoncello, less alcohol content. It was like lemon baileys. Good, but I prefer the real stuff.
We walked along and saw some neat things. Sorrento is a small place, but a cute one. There aren't really things in it that you see, more just used as a hub to see other places. I love this place. Don't know why, but it's smallness is great. Although it is a place that has mostly tourists in it, walking around where there wasn't people was awesome. Just fun to get off the beaten path.
The day flew by. We walked to town and had some lunch. Right across from a Christmas store, playing Christmas music, complete with all things Christmas. It was pretty funny. After lunch we walked around the touristy streets and then stopped got some pumpkin seeds, and a soda and sat on bench for a bit before proceeding to wander. Before we knew it, it was 630 and it was time to start thinking about dinner.
Dinner was delicious. It was a fish evening. Luke had the sea bass, and I had a lobster pasta. MMM!!! DELICIOUS LOBSTER!!! So worth it, and tender, and fresh. Luckily only half his face was on my plate and his eye wasn't looking at me. That made it easier to eat him.
It was a real nice day. Not much to say specifically about it. Which is great as means there was a lot of relaxing and we just went about our time and enjoying our last day of walking around a city.
When we got back to our hostel, there was a little friend waiting for us on our roof. Now I am okay with geckos but I don't feel comfortable sleeping with them in case they get curious and decide to snuggle up in bed with us. So Lukey got him off the ceiling and set him back out to find his family outdoors.
Another wonderful day. Hard to believe that August is fast approaching. With that comes two weeks of laying in the sun in the Greek islands. Where has the time gone. Loving our adventures, and love that each day brings new stories and memories.
And so the adventure continues...
