Milano! A beautiful city with an interesting vibe. It is definitely a modern city living in the architecture of both old and new. The styles and stores that are everywhere are very modern and very high fashion. This can be seen even just by watching the people that walk by. As we walked through Milano today it was almost evident which people were tourists and who were the locals. This was fun due to the fact that there are also many more tourist groups that are outing and abouting now.
We made our way through a lot of the centre of Milan. It is clear they like to have trees and greenery. There will randomly be vines up a house, or trees wherever they could put them, and potted trees and plants in the window ledges. This is kind of cool as they do have bigger parks which of course is filled with people, but also this may be the first city that we have been to that has clearly attempted to bring the greenery inn the life that is all around them and the paths that the frequent. Instead of just having the parks that they go to.
The Duomo is a cathedral that is made completely out of marble. This is pretty sweet. In my opinion it almost has the look of a very large Lego project. We think that it had just finished being restored because there was still some scaffolding put behind, and it was also very white and fresh looking.
We had a beautiful day today. The sun was shining and hot and there was lovely blue sky.
We walked around and also sat a little bit in a few different places. It was a great day.
Anyone seen Friends? Well I love this show and quote it frequently. Today we saw a legit Ross tan, and it was gross. An old lady super super dark an she didn't flip, it really looked horrible. An obvious dark to white difference from front to back. It was sad but very funny to see.
Some other things along the way today we saw. I mentioned a while back a seatless toilet, well I came across it again today. We also saw the best food truck ever. A food RV more like it, it was great! Luke also found some Gluten free ice cream sandwiches that we devoured! Saw the Leonardo Da Vinci statue as we were resting in some shade as well. Then along the side walk we saw both orange and blue puppy prints just walking about along it was cute enough to be picture worthy.
We had a great day today and enjoyed Milan. It's a neat big city, with high fashion and slow moving people. I love the Italian language. It has the elegance of Spanish but with the more romantic sound to it. Glad we get to spend so much time in the beauty of this language and the country.
And so the adventure continues...
