Nothing beats the sound of the waves, best friend/husband by your side, laying in the sun. Was such a relaxing day! Started out going back to our local Nostos for a delicious lunch before heading an extra 10 steps to the beach. The boiling hot sand was probably the hottest I have ever walked on. Even diggin your feet in didn't make it cooler.
The water was much warmer then Cinque Terre but not as warm as Lido in Venice. The perfect temperature really, refreshing enough but you get used to it quick enough but remains refreshing. Was odd though as after our lunch and even before there was hardly anyone at the beach. After lunch we were apart of a small handful of people at the beach for a few hours. That was the best part.
There was a guy who came around and chatted with us, it was his job to make sure the chairs were only being occupied by the proper people. He was pretty funny, also chatted for s bit and he said there have been a lot of Canadians lately, which is odd. Also was surprised we knew about Bali and asked how. Easy answer for us cause Luke knew through his class abroad.
We enjoyed the beach, sun, drinks and water for a number of hours this afternoon into the evening before calling it quites. Then we headed back to sport cleaned up.
Alright let's talk about showers for a moment. It's been a while. The shower here is very absurd. A tub, with a tap and wand. No place to put the wand, had to shower holding the wand the whole time. Then when it came time to shampoo, conditioner and body wash it was time to get creative. Luke and I each had different tactics in this area but I shall spare you those details. Not because they weren't creative or weird, because they aren't necessary.
After we cleaned up we headed out to walk to see the other beaches and see more of what Bali had to offer. The one street wonder place, has hills and valleys. The valleys are almost their own little towns, and I am sure they operate as such with the beaches and restaurants and shops.
A neat little place though. Definitely a resort type of place. Would certainly come back and stay for longer. We went back to our little place of choice for eating and had some dinner. We now know the people who work there as we have frequented it. They also know us, which is fun. Would be fun to stay longer and see what you get for going to the same place often.
After that the sun was setting. We picked up some was and soda and headed back to watch the night sky rise on the deck. Another thing we enjoy doing, sitting on the deck listening to music, talking, and occasionally being on the inter webs. The perfect ending to the day.
Tomorrow we hop on a bus to head to Chania, where Luke lived during his schooling here. Many more adventures lay ahead. Happy long weekend to all! Enjoy the many things of you will be doing.
And so the adventure continues...
