Wow, we really didn't realize how exhausted we were, but we are definitely catching up on rest and relaxation. On the agenda today was mini Europe and the Atomium. We eventually found some food, and then headed to the metro. When we got to our stop and back up to ground floor, we noticed multiple cranes next to the Atomium. Luke apparently knew about this but I was unaware. They are called dinner in the sky, they lift you up with a crane and then cook and serve you dinner. They had a ton of cranes with a large amount of people. I much prefer our dinner in the sky over this choice. But they seemed to be having a party, singing and cheering.
The Atomium is pretty cool, we went up it and into the different balls, they have the history of it. It is a pretty unique place with a neat panoramic at the top.
Mini Europe is SOO COOL! You see many well known monuments and they are sooooo well done and look very realistic. They we are so neat to see so up close, they also have a book that tells y out a little bit about everything you see and where they are located and a little about that country. Was definitely worth it to go to. Even cool to see places we have already been to because you see aspects you don't have access to and you realize how accurate they really are.
It is incredible! And then there is Luke in the outfits lookin silly.
After this our tiredness yet again set Ina no we decided to head back and find a snack and a Belgian waffle for Luke. He was so kind as to let me choose it for him. Nutella, strawberries, loads of whipping cream, and drizzled with Belgian chocolate. MMM!!!! He let me have berry with cream and chocolate, I can only imagine how great it tasted with the waffle as well.
We also found this large picnic table thing on our travels throughout Brussels.
Alright, so a few things we have learned and noticed while we have been here. They have certain beer glasses for certain beers and they are very proud of this. If they do not have a clean glass they hesitate to you give you that beer and ask if you are alright with it being in a different glass or if you would like to change your choice in beer. Certain glasses go with certain beers based on when and what order they touch your tongue on and what part of your tongue they touch first. Which is interesting to know. They have tons and tons of glasses when you go into pubs here.
Their ambulances here have the most hilarious sound from them. It sounds like a very old scary movie ghost music. It is SO funny!! It is sad cause they are obviously going somewhere but I cannot help but laugh.
We have enjoyed Brussels, and the uniqueness that the buildings offer. It would be a great place to come and stay for a few weeks and to use as home base to see the rest of Belgium.
We are funny as we find a few places we really enjoy going to and we end up being drawn back to them when we are unable to find a place to eat.
There is also a crazy loud thunder storm happening right above us. With massive amounts of lightening and roaring thunder. I am TERRIFIED of thunder storms!!!!! This one will not let up. It is seriously one after another after another for both thunder and lightning. Luckily I have Lukey to hold onto or else I would be doomed. Honestly it's freaky! So bad Lukey tried to ensure I didn't hear or see it.
Buyt we are headed to sleep so we are rested for a travel tomorrow and meeting up with mom and dad. Hopefully sleep can actually be had. Rather doubtful on that one but we shall see. Not much more to say for us, till next time.
And so the adventure continues...
So Cool, but you look best as an Engineer Luke - also good to know how big you would look as a lumber jack - however the most natural is in those wooden clogs! So Cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting day! Safe travels tomorrow and have fun with Len & Karin!
