Today we somehow managed to sleep through breakfast. This was only unfortunate because breakfast was included at the hostel, we awoke to the sound of the housekeeping lady asking if we neede our room cleaned. Well this hasn't been the first this trip that this has happened to us, but it isn't frequent also. We looked at each other deciding what to do with the day. We decided rather telepathically that we were going to relax a little as we just needed a day. So we decided to read more of our book, then more, and more. Periodically stopping for food or water. We enjoyed just having a day to vege. Especially as earlier it was pouring rain. So really we were just waiting ou the rain. But not much to report about today.
Although when we did venture back outside to get some food, we came across a beach volleyball tournamnent of sorts. Both men and women it looked like. They had the courts set up in a main square with a loud speaker, announcer, and lots of music playing. This was interesting to walk by. From there we continued to walk back through what we had seen last night, and ventured further into the main part of the city. There are 'old' buildings, which we think we're built to look like they were older then they are due to the war, it pretty much obliterated this place. We walked across the canal and ventured around for a little longer before making our way back home.
There is something different about Dresden, it isn't a tiny city, but there also seems to be a different vibe about it then we have experienced before. This is neither good or bad just different, and it is hard to explain.
These guys we weren't entirely sure about, it looks to us like there is somehow a mermaid tail somewhere on the statue. We just decided that the person was a mermaid and that was that.
We were glad for the day of rest and relaxation. Dresden is unique and maybe someday we will our finger on what it is that is different about this place. Was a good place to come for a day to see it and to relax, as it could be seen in a few hours. We were also thankful that the decided to shine as last night there was a thunder storm and well that wasn't very fun.
Tomorrow we go to Prague. We have a few weeks of bouncing from place to place and country to country before we end up eventually in Italy where we will be for a number of weeks. The bonus about being in a country for so long is that you get to know the stores, the Angi, and the way the people all the more. You somehow have a routine even though you aren't Ina specific place for very long, the country ends up having a certain comfort to it. We definitely experienced this is Ireland, Spain, and Holland so far. But we are looking forward to the weeks ahead and the many more places we will visit.
And so the adventure o
