We had a low key day today. I am pretty beaten up from my spill last night. I was holding Luke hand with my left hand, and when I fell, I twisted my ankles and then landed on my right side. My ankles are sore, but it was my thigh was and knee were real cramps and sore. Any ways wa wa wa, I'm fine worse things have happened moving on! We had an easy and low key morning, then headed to the Natural History Museum. This is a crazy place and would be awesome for science class. They had big exhibits on earthquakes, volcanoes, gems, dinosaurs, mammals. Tons of stuff, was sweet to look around, especially when seeing the mammals and animals. They had every animal, from creepy crawlies to a blue whale, stuffed.
We had a light lunch and figured we would go to Diana's memorial. Little did we know that it wasn't exactly as we thought it would be. It is in a park and it is a fountain. From the top it flows in 2 directions, it cascades, swirls and bubbles before meeting Ina calm pool at the bottom. You are allowed to sit and put you feet in, or you hands. This signifies her openness. The whole fountain represents her. You can cross into the centre where there is grass that you can sit and enjoy the fountain and the weather. The whole memorial is surrounded by grass. The memorial itself is made up of 545 pieces of Cornish Granite. We spent some time here as the weather was great, and we had some time to spare. Really enjoyed the relaxing day.
For dinner we decided to eat at Pizza Hut. Simply because they had gluten free crust and I really wanted to try it. Unlimited salad bar and an actually decent pizza. Was great! Also was a good way to kill sometime before the rest of the evening commenced. Another neat thing we found today was that they have 'subways'. These are walking subways that are underground tunnels purely for you to be able to get places a little quicker. We also saw and heard a guy with 3 different coloured gorillas singing and playing instruments. It was pretty hilarious. The nice thing about the tube as well is that the trains bars on the inside, match the colour of line it is on. Which is great when you are in a hurry it is an easy check to see if you are on the right train. Just ate to be conscious of the direction then.
We decided that we would see if we could catch a show this evening. Matilda! It was actually a musical which was a little odd but they did a great job! It was really funny, and Miss Trunchable was so great. I told Luke he had to watch the movie, he said remind me in 100 days. Haha funny guy. He didn't know anything about it, but I have the movie so I knew what to expect a little. The whole set was amazing, majority was letters or words on scrabble tiles. The desks rose from the ground, it was just incredible. It has been playing for a while here and apparently was the first place to ever get it. I think what even made it better was the English accents! Made everything funnier, was so great.
As our good friend Jordan Parkin reminded us a few years ago on our road trip, and we have continued to say since, it is all about the experience. Indeed it is, especially just going with the flow and walking around, seeing more of the city and experiencing the life that so many people experience daily.
And so the adventure continues...
